For these three examinations the total fee

is $2 (Mexican) per head, which fee the Steamship Company pays.

It will be seen from the above, that this

absolutely refutes the suggestion made in the report of Dr. ~~

Liceaga that the examination made in Hongkong is of a super-

-ficial natur 9.

Dr. Valenzuela was not a pupil of mine this

idea has probably arisen from the fact that Dr. Valenzuela

was present with me when I was conducting the examination for

trachoma of Chinese passengers on behalf of Stearship Companies

running to Manila.
